Heart of Ice

Lying here next to you,
I don't know what to say.
You want a love that's pure and true,
But I only love for a day.

I shatter hearts like bits of glass,
But I need to feel that touch.
I wish that I could make love last,
I need to be held so much!

I've got a heart made of ice,
I try to warm it with love, but it doesn't suffice.
If I could, I'd offer you paradise,
But nothing can warm this heart made of ice.

And here we are in my bed,
I don't know what to say.
I try to hold fast, filled with dread,
But my feelings slip away.

And every day I'm older,
Finding my self alone,
and every day my heart grows colder,
And it's chilling me right to the bone.
